Michael Jackson died on June 25th. That’s one of those statements you never think you’re going to say. I mean, eventually you WILL, but not any time soon. That’s the funny thing about being human. We elevate many of our celebrities to such astronomical heights, that we  believe they’re immortal. I’ll admit,  even I expected Michael to at least live longer than me. He was younger, more energetic, and probably took better care of himself. Or so I believed. But I don’t want to dwell on all that. This is my opportunity to put my 2 cents in about the greatest entertainer that ever walk the earth.

Michael Jackson and his brothers shaped my childhood. I bought I Want You Back on a 45 like every other kid in my neighborhood. I played the living crap out of it. I like it so much, that I decided to take music lessons. I became a bass player at 14, joined a band at 16, and was playing the nightclub circuit at 17! Sadly, at 18, I left my show biz life behind and I went to college. But my affection for  Jackson’s music never went away.
