The Best HBCU?

There is no such thing as "the best HBCU, the second best HBCU, the third best HBCU, etc"; nor is there such a thing as "the best predominantly White institution (PWI) of higher learning, second best, third best, etc. " Annual "rankings" of colleges and universities are nothing more than mildly entertaining bits of gossip whose primary function is to promote the sales of the magazines in which they appear. They should never be taken seriously.

Unfortunately, when they are taken seriously, these so-called "rankings" can cause prospective students to make very bad career decisions because they distract attention from the real question: Which HBCU is best for YOU? This question has become even more critical in the context of the worst recession since the Great Depression. More...

THANK YOU!!

Wow! It's been SIX years! I've worked to stay faithful to the schedule of bringing you this story, and now it's completed. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did drawing it. But, every story has a conclusion and this one was destined to end sooner or later. I must admit I will miss these characters.

Thank you to all the faithful readers who stuck with me, following the whole adventure. It's hard to believe this entire story only takes place over seven days! You've been a great group of fans, I won't hesitate to say you're the best fans in the world.

This has been so much fun. I have some other ideas I'm considering drawing, but I haven't decided which one yet. I am interested in is an online comic strip.

This isn't the complete ending of the OA site, though. The entire series is being prepped for e-book release. I'm cleaning up dialog, colors, and mistakes to spice up my original art. I'm also streamlining the story so that it flows better in book format. So if you're interested in learning more about The Opposite Trilogy, check back here around September 1st for a brand new website, filled with more HBCU news, OS and OA backstories, deleted scenes, drawing techniques, news about the eBook release dates and MORE!!!

Thanks again everyone!

So, what's the OA story about?

This story takes place approximately a year after the ending of the OS. The pack are in their senior year at Westside High, and they're preparing for their College Tour Trip, which will involve visiting 3 colleges in the state. The three campuses, all in the same city, are Garvey College, Haywood University, and Banneker-Carver College. Michael, interested in biochemistry, wants to attend Haywood, which was Professor Struball's previous teaching post. However, Michael is still suffering from occasional side effects associated with the last blast of the Professor's machine. When his condition becomes unbearable, he winds up in the hospital. They decide to quarantine Michael while they investigate his unusual blood cell activity. It all seems pretty routine, until a medical test reactivates his dormant mutation cells, and starts the transformation to “Michele” all over again. This time, however, the professor has no machine to change her back. Not wanting to miss the college trip, the Chandler family figures out a way to get Michele on the college tour. They succeed, and once on the college campuses, Michele's mysterious charm weaves its universal effect on everyone she encounters.

Attending an HBCU? Peep this!

Spelman College, Howard University, and Hampton University, top the list of U.S.News and World Report's first annual ranking of the nation's historically black colleges and universities. The "America's Best Black Colleges" rankings were released last October online at www.usnews.com/blackcolleges.
"As historically black colleges and universities continue to play a vital role in today's higher education landscape, we decided to create a specific ranking of them to allow apples-to-apples comparisons of these schools," said Brian Kelly, editor of U.S.News and World Report. "This unique ranking offers for the first time an independent perspective on these institutions to help students and parents make an informed choice about one of life's most important and expensive decisions."More...
